THE ETERNAL ATTRIBUTES OF JEHOVAH GOD
Sometimes when in a discussion about fulfilled prophecy someone says, "If everything is over, why are we still here?" Or similar questions. As if fulfilled prophecy means the end of everything. But, it does not mean the end of Jehovah God, or his kingdom. As God is eternal, so are his attributes. The love, mercy and grace of God are eternal. But, so are his judgment and wrath. Everything about God is eternal. So, eventhough somethings written in the Bible have come to an end, God has not come to an end.
The name of God is forever. Exodus 3.13-15.
The reign of God is forever. Exodus 15.18.
God abides forever, and has established his throne of judgment. Psalm 9.7.
God is king forever. Psalm 10.16.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever. Psalm 33.11.
God's throne, scepter of uprightness and kingdom are forever. Psalm 45.6.
God is on high forever. Psalm 92.8.
Truth, justice and all the precepts of God are upheld forever. Psalm 111.7-8.
The righteousness of God endures forever. 2 Corinthians 9.9.
The Word of the Lord endures forever. 1 Peter 1.25.
It's obvious that Jehovah God is forever, or eternal. And there are various Scriptures that establish his grace, mercy and love. But also his wrath and judgment.
Romans 1.18 states, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness." NASB.
John 3.16 establishes the love of God. Mercy and grace are established as well throughout Scriptures.
So, just because prophecy has been fulfilled, does not mean everything is over.
