| I often wondered why some churches, especially "old school" churches, have two pulpits. I am used to just seeing one. Well, I decided to do some research and I found out the reason. It seems to be a denomination thing for the most part: The “most” important pulpit is the one where the pastor delivers his sermon. In most cases, this pulpit is in the center of the room. This is especially true of Protestant churches. Taken from: http://kingdomincblog.com/why-do-some-churches-have-two-pulpits/ | |

| Decorating the Pulpit for the Easter service Although you can get creative with decorating your church podium for Easter, there are a few basic elements you should try to incorporate. They are a large cross and Easter lilies. Read on for some ideas on how to incorporate these basic elements on your church stage. The cross is the most important Easter decoration. It is a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins. Why not enlist the help of a skilled woodworker to create a large cross for your church podium? You may also want to hang a crown of thorns on the cross (someone crafty in your church may be able to make one) or a white cloth draped over the cross. | I don't think they decorated for Easter. I think decoration for Easter the way it is done today is purely commercialism- for example Easter egg hunts, etc. | |
